Kicking!

Yep, the Little One is fidgeting away! Lauren first felt it last Sunday, and I finally managed to get in on the action on Wednesday. We were lying in bed and Lauren told me the baby was moving. I placed my hand on her belly, and waited for what seemed like an age. Then, 'bump'. Then another 'bump'. Like a teddy bear knocking on my hand. Lauren asked me if I'd felt it and it took me a little while to suppress my (enormous) grin long enough to utter a rather gormless 'Yeah. Wow.'

As for that leaf, I've decided to do a series of little belly pics to help make counting off the weeks a bit more...colourful. As you can see, I'm no Van Gogh.

This was the first one (we managed to forget/didn't have time to do '21'), 22 is on the way!

20 week scan (Take two)

We popped back to the hospital to have another look at the Little One this morning, and left the hospital with big grins and eight scan photos. All is well - we even managed to see the tiny heart pumping away! :)

20 week scan

Lauren and I went to see how the Little One was getting on yesterday. It's the second scan we've been in for (the first was at 12 weeks), and the atmosphere in the waiting room was just the same as the first time. A mixture of excitement and apprehension fills the air, fathers' faces (mine included) with that bizarre, unmistakable look combining immense pride and 'Holy crap I'm going to be a Dad!'.

Seeing our child squirming away on the screen really is an incredible feeling - impossible to describe. The Little One was facing the wrong way for the radiologist to see everything that she needed to so we're heading back in next Tuesday to have another look. Everything that the radiologist did see 'looked fine'. :)
